The Iskenderian family opened the first Zankou Chicken at Sunset and Normandie in Hollywood in 1983. That location is still thriving and eight others have since opened in Greater Los Angeles, including new ones in Toluca Lake and on Glenoaks Boulevard in Glendale. Affordable and quick, Zankou is best known for its succulent rotisserie chicken and near-legendary garlic sauce, but also serves first-class falafel, heavenly hummus, substantial shawarma plates and more.
